Port Adelaide CC members hatch a plan that's reached the international media

A plan devised on the Port Adelaide CC forums to support a relatively obscure, young, non-english speaking european professional during the Tour Down Under  - Arthur Vichot, #107 riding for the Francaise Des Jeux team - has had unexpected results, with cycling fans visiting Adelaide from all over the country in also joining in with the locals to support young Arthur Vichot.

21 year-old frenchman Arthur Vichot is nephew of Frédéric Vichot, a former Tour de France and Vuelta stage winner. Arthur Vichot's facebook fan page has quickly grown to over 1, 100 fans and Vichot himself almost looks comfortable with his new found fame, now that the surprise has worn off!

Australia's "Vichotmania" has been reported on Eurosport ('Arthur Vichot superstar'), American syndicated newspaper USA Today, French cycling news sites Cyclism 'Actu and l'equipe, and even a Japanese cycling site cyclowired.jp.

Vichot's Wiki entry has been modified to reflect his new found fame.

Expect to see plenty more local support for Vichot!
